Abbot’s Lea Bake Off

Our first ever Bake Off took place in Key Stage 4 this week, with the four classes being set the task of baking and constructing a ‘technical and showstopper’ Gingerbread House, by our Head of Department Mr. McVerry. The competitive nature of all of the students and staff took over and on Wednesday 20th December Mr. McVerry and our Head of Care and Safeguarding, Miss. Twomey took on the roles of Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith to judge the competition. They had to judge on two categories, taste and presentation, with a winner for each category. The decision for each was hard as the level of each was very high, but there had to be a winner for each. The results of which are below.

Taste
1st Place – Papua New Guinea
2nd Place – Australia
3rd Place – Samoa
4th Place – Christmas Island

Presentation and overall winner
1st Place – Christmas Island

Well done to everyone in Key Stage 4, it was an amazing event.
