The Duke of Edinburgh Award is an extracurricular activity and is delivered through cross curricular links and links that pupils and parents have that are external to the school setting.

The key aims that this award sets out for our pupils are:

• To develop communication, social and flexibility of thought
• To help pupils access the community
• To prepare pupils for life after Abbots Lea
• To provide pupils with a challenge alongside their study
