It is with great joy, optimism and hope for all of our children’s amazing future, that I write to you today to share the news of our city being accepted onto the UNICEF Child Friendly City programme.

I want to thank you all for your support in the application process – our students’ views collated some months ago have significantly enhanced our position.

Last Friday, as you know, some of our students continued to lead the way and, with the help of Phil Green, aka the Film Man, created this wonderful film about their views, hopes and dreams. A very proud moment!

I am just about to attend a Town Hall launch of the project and will continue to keep you all informed about the opportunities arising.
