World Book Day 2023

Theme: Celebrating Diversity

Our most recent library update includes more than 150 books written by authors of colour. This amazing set was gifted to us by the Lit in Colour project (Pearson and Penguin Random House). To encourage everyone to explore and enjoy our new books, our theme for this year’s World Book Day is Celebrating Diversity.

World Book Day - World Book Day | World Book Day is a registered charity. Our mission is to give every child and young person a book of their own.

A book review competition is an event where you can share your thoughts and feelings about a book with other students. The aim of this competition is to encourage you to explore our library, read more books, discover your interests, improve your writing skills, and share your opinions with others.
To participate in a book review competition, you first need to find a book from our library. Then, you will need to write a review of the book. A book review is a summary of the book and your opinion of it. You can include things like the title, author, characters, plot, and your favorite parts of the book. You can also share what you didn’t like about the book and why.
Al the tips and tricks for writing the best book review are on the back side of the form.
When you complete your review, add it to the competition box in our library. The last day to submit your book reviews is 2 March (next week Thursday).
