At Abbot’s Lea School, we recognise that some students require a highly personalised approach to learning in order to achieve their full potential. Our Bespoke Provision is designed for students whose needs mean that learning must be different, rather than simply differentiated.

Rooted in our ASD Model© of Academic Progress, Specialist Support and Development of Life Skills, Bespoke Provision provides an ambitious, meaningful and individualised curriculum that enables students to make progress across all areas of their development.

Learning is carefully planned around each student’s strengths, interests, needs and EHCP outcomes. Through close collaboration between families, teachers, therapists and support staff, we ensure that every student’s curriculum is personalised whilst remaining purposeful, challenging and aspirational.

The curriculum is informed by ongoing assessment, including the SCERTS framework, and places a strong emphasis on communication, engagement, emotional regulation, independence and preparation for adulthood. Teaching is delivered through meaningful learning experiences that promote curiosity, participation and a strong sense of belonging.

Whilst academic learning remains important, equal value is placed on developing the skills that allow students to communicate effectively, build relationships, increase independence and participate successfully in their communities.

We continually monitor progress to ensure that students receive the most appropriate curriculum offer. As students develop, curriculum provision is reviewed to ensure that the level of support, challenge and opportunity remains aligned to their individual needs.

The Three Tiers of Bespoke Provision

Within Bespoke Provision, we have our EYFS curriculum offer and three tiers of curriculum, enabling students to access learning that best matches their individual profile and stage of development:

• Bespoke Voyagers
